Wood Textured Leaves

I did a class recently based on the Colourful Seasons set,
and wanted a masculine card....

I used the Wood Textures DSP, stamped and die cut some of the delicate leaves from the
Seasonal Layers Thinlits,  adding one cut from the Copper Foil,
a bit of the same DSP in the background, and some fibrous Burlap Ribbon
finishes off a simple card.

Here's a summary of the class:

I try to show the versatility of sets, as well as tips and techniques,
there's always something new to learn,
and I always learn something from my class attendees too.

I'd love you to join us for fun and friendship,
so if you'd like more information, please just ask.

I run regular Thursday afternoon classes from 2 till 4pm,
£10 per person, all tools, materials and refreshment included.
Other classes/workshops/parties by arrangement.

I hope to welcome you one day,
meantime thanks for stopping by my blog,

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

I'm sharing some cards I made for a local Tractorfest,
which is basically a tractor show for enthusiasts of this much loved machine.
I am one of the members of High Halden Craft Club,
who have a stall at the show.

One of the other members let me borrow their stamp (not sure what make),
I coloured them with inks, and pro markers, and backed them with some SU papers.
I'm pretty sure I haven't coloured them accurately, but hope that doesn't put people off!
I am certainly NOT a tractor expert!

Enjoy whatever you get up to!

Another relaxing card

Using the Colourful Seasons,
we die cut a circle, masked and made a background with a sponge brayer
(the sponge brayer is so simple, and leaves no lines)
using soft sky and sahara sand ink.

stamped some faux grass, and the deckchair frame.
stamped the deckchair canvas on some Colour Theory paper,
which made it look denim-like, cut it out and glued in place

Virtually a one layer card apart from the canvas and ribbon.

Don't forget to redeem your vouchers earned from last month,
order the Christmas bundle early, or enjoy the new seasonal catalogue.
Ask if you'd like a copy

My Planner

I like to be organised, and I need to be organised more than ever these days.
So, I thought I'd try the new SU planner, and I was NOT disappointed!

You get the wonderful binder, with all the blank pages, inserts, pockets, bookmarks,
decorations, labels, stickers and so much more.

You get more than enough to customise each month

and one of the many advantages, is you can start the year whenever you like!

You get enough blank pages for the month

there's a title page for each month, that I'm using to highlight main events,
make a to-do list, a wish-list, class list  etc

then there's a two page spread to summarize each month...

a week on two pages....

an extra page for notes

very good quality dividers that are sturdy and wipe clean

a book mark that is so easy to clip in and out

the monthly 'front page'

the month on 2 pages to customise

the week to view

tabs, dividers etc included

I got out my stamp set to quickly date my pages....
I needed quick, easy to see dates and info...
or you can neatly write dates in the small boxes provided :)

If you are neat and dainty...look away now!
I needed practical! above all else!
big, loud, obvious, crossed out, highlighted where necessary!

Maybe I'll have time to finness, make pretty, future pages,
BUT for now IT WORKS FOR ME....and that's what I need!

I have everything in one place, and feel much more organised now.
I've also used the clear pockets (the memories and more inserts fit)
to hold appointment cards, tickets etc.

You can add elements that work for YOU.

I tried a planner before....ended up in the bin.....
one of the main reasons I love this one is it's flexible, customisable,
adaptable, personalisable, pretty, sturdy, practical, and FUN!

There are some great videos out there...Elizabeth's craft room is one,
she shows how she uses hers, makes extra pockets and more

It also makes a great gift!
Why not treat someone you know, Christmas is coming !

The quality is high, they've thought of everything,
but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask....
I'm here to help!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Although I made this card, I cannot take the credit for the idea.
Happy Birthday Gorgeous is a stamp set that has been full of surprises.
I have really enjoyed playing with the two-step images that are simple to use,
and the lovely sentiments with cute fonts, that are so so versatile.

I used soft blues, mauve's and greens, with just a few images from the stamp set,
and with a layout cased from Kim Fee, die cut a circle afterwards,
layering it up on foam pads.

I tied some silver thread around the top layer, and through the circle.

I think you will see a lot more of this set ;)

You can choose the awesome new christmas stamp set before it goes public too!

New mini catalogues will be sent out soon....with some awesome new products
in time for christmas and this space!

Stampin' Up! against a brick wall

I hope you've had a good weekend.

Hopefully you've had time to in this card

I made this for Alan
He has lots of hobbies, but I've made cards for all of them,
and was itching to try out the new SU! Embossing Paste
I used an old stamp set for the stars, stamped the greeting,
and die cut with the stitched square

He's a builder, and we were due a log delivery,
so I spread the paste through the brick wall stencil,
and fussy cut the 'logs' from the fab DSP paper pack.
I also stamped the deckchair canvas on some of the colour theory paper,
cut it out and mounted it on foam pads, did the same with the logs.
He chuckled and liked it!

I can't wait to try all of the techniques you can use with the
Embossing Paste..........
